Tutorial: 17th century ruffle collar
The Inspiration: 18th century French art and 17th century Dutch Baroque art. I think all the art history courses I took in High school and college may have influenced my love for white collars...
The Materials needed to make your own 17th century ruffle collar (a more casual version):
Fabric of choice. I used cotton duck.
3. cut two strips of velcro and pin to the ends.
4.Sew the velcro down as well as the top of the overlapped edge (I just sewed on top of the stitches that were already there from the pleating).
I think the next one I make will have two layers, and maybe I'll add something sheer to the top so its even MORE 17th century:) For now this is a casual version!
