OH. MY. GOSH: Project Runway

THIS???
mondo's look: love the prints, the pops of color, the element of fun. I would wear this outfit in a
heartbeat.
mondo: love the shoes, love the tights, love the spunky dress.....
OR THIS??????
Gretchen's look: This really wasn't the worst of it ( I had trouble finding photos), but there was a TON of belly showing (I am not sure who wears clothes with their stomach's hanging out), and everything was in these hideous brown fabrics.
LOOK AT THIS HIDEOUS OUTFIT!!! how in the world did Gretchen win? I have watched every single season of project runway, since its inception (During the first few seasons I remember one of my friends at Anthro would record the episodes for me on vhs and then I would take them home to watch, then come back and we would all discuss...). I have always agreed with the winner. At least mostly. I have never been 100% sure that someone would lose and then they surprise me by winning. Until now. I thought Gretchen was dead last. That was some ugly crap coming down the runway. I DID love the necklaces and some of her ideas could have been cute in different fabrics, but all together I thought it was underwhelming and mostly ugly.

MONDO's collection completely spoke to me. It was fun, colorful, vibrant, and exciting! I would wear almost every piece he created! I thought it was a hands down situation. If anything, I thought Andy would be the runner up!

Shocked.  If this is "where fashion is headed" (according to Nina Garcia and Michael Kors) then I am just going to be out of style for a bit. I would much rather walk down the street in a mondo-esque style outfit then in southwestern hippie wear and my belly hanging out.

Oh man! I totally agree. When they said Gretchen's name I was sure she had lost. I was really confused because her outfits were terrible...all season. UGH.

Love, love Mondo! My husband was so sure Mondo was the winner, hands down. What a disappointment.

i am SO with you. i was SO disappointed with the results. gretchen's collection...ugh. it made me wrinkle my nose! as for mondo...i was oohing and aahing with every look that came down the runway.

i know this is a design show so we should judge the people based on their work, but because it's also a reality show, i have to add that i despise gretchen...i thought she was critical, self centered, and i can't count the number of disparaging, rude things she said to other people on the show. i know it's a competition, but that doesn't mean you have to cut down (excuse the pun) everyone else at every opportunity!

and nina garcia and michael kors (though they're fashion gurus and know WAAAAAY more than i do) were annoying.

can you tell i feel strongly about how the finale went? :)

well, yes, obviously it was a totally wtf? kind of outcome.

But you know what else was super disappointing? The whole reunion portion of the show! I could have fallen asleep. Where were the sparks flying about Ivy's cheating allegations and the whole group challenge drama and about a billion other interesting things they could have drudged up? If you are going to pick the depressing poo collection to win, at least give us good drama. BOOOO!!!

Completely agree with you. I definitely need a break from Project Runway. Do you read TLo? Their assessment was best. http://tomandlorenzo2.blogspot.com/2010/10/project-runway-congratulations.html

Agree, Agree, Agree. I was so disappointed that Mondo didn't win. Ugh. And, not only are Gretchen's clothes ugly, but she wasn't very nice. Ugh.

Yeah...Gretchen? Seriously? I couldn't stand her throughout the entire season, she has talent but too much confidence...its annoying. I was hoping Andy would win. I like Mondo, but he is extremely excentric and Andy had clothes that seemed more wearable.

I ALWAYS watch Project Runway . . . but I totally missed this season! I was so busy and got so far behind with the first few episodes that I just gave up and figured I'd get back to it next season. But from what I'm seeing here . . . WTF? Those clothes at the end are FUGLY, and those are the winner's designs? Man oh man.

I agree. Mondo was robbed!!! I’m not sure why Michael and Nina outnumbered Heidi and Jessica.

I appreciate the concern which is been rose. This is a wonderful opinion. The things mentioned are unanimous and needs to be appreciated by everyone.

Well, it’s amazing. The miracle has been done. Hat’s off. Well done, as we know that “hard work always pays off”, after a long struggle with sincere effort it’s done.

i would have wore most of mondo's outfits from his final collection, and i am NOT a junior or teenager. throughout the show i had liked gretchen's clothes. i dig the whole bohemian hippie thing, but her final collection color palette, etc.kinda bored me.

omh my gosh I totally agree with everything you said! I was SO pissed! I thought Gretchen would get 3rd for sure. I think the only reason Mondo didn't win is because Seth Aaron did a crappier version the season before and won.

I was so so sad for Mondo the Magnificent! I would love to wear every single piece he made the entire season! I thought for sure he had to be the winner. He was a very gracious looser. He probably feels the same way we all feel, but he congratulated Gretchen and moved on. He is an awesome guy who makes awesome clothes!

See, I'm torn because I think they're both SO talented. I loved Mondo's stuff, but I also really loved Gretchen's stuff too. I would wear pretty much everything in her collection! I just feel like it was trying to compare apples to oranges. the BEST of the apples to the BEST of the oranges! What a finale!
