vegas? Anyone?

My husband is applying for Navy residencies this fall and wanted to attend the Armed Forces Obstetrics and Gynecology Distric meeting in Vegas (my husband wants to do OBGYN) so he could meet and greet and learn right along the residency directors... and he thought it would be a good idea if I came along.

I said the only way I would go to Vegas is sans-children... and we have booked the trip! We will be there from a Saturday to Wed. in October. I need suggestions of interesting things to do, places to shop, etc. I am putting this on my blog because I am hoping I have readers with similar interests as I (art, design, crafting and sewing, etc) with suggestions I can't find on every top 10 Vegas list. Okay, now if you aren't a commenter normally (ahem, most of you), now is the time! Suggestions please!

Also I have a few more baby boy tutorials coming up, I've just been painting a lot lately (thanks to my new class) and haven't been in the mood to blog. They are coming though!

Wise choice to do Vegas without children. As far as crafting/sewing stuff, I haven't found very much here. There is plenty of shopping though. My favorite is Town Square mall, just a bit south of the strip. If you don't have transportation off the strip there is the Miracle Mile mall under the planet hollywood hotel. I wish I were more of a help, but I try to stay away from the strip so I don't know a whole lot of what goes on down there. I hope you find some fun stuff. I'll be checking back to see if there are other suggestions.

I've never done more in Vegas than drive down the strip on the way to California, so I don't know what to tell you. I also don't know that I'd have a clue what to do without kids in tow!!!

So will Franc deliver your baby boy? Is that why you guys are crankin the babies out, so he can practice? Ha ha...j/k. You look great, by the way.

sounds awesome! definitely make time to enjoy the beauty of Cesar's palace and the bellagio! and i also suggest sushi roku as a yummy lunch spot - it's in on the third floor of ceasar's palace shoppes above the marc jacobs and swatch stores - it's got a good little view, was fairly quiet at lunch, and amazingly delicious. my co-worker and i still talk about it 7 months later!

Beautiful art museum in the Venetian, and the rollercoasters on top of the Stratosphere are killer!

i second the recommendation for town square mall if you want to shop, but it might not have anythign you don't have at home....it's just calm and relaxing and pleasant compared to the strip. :) i also heard about a feather store that is apparently full of every type of feather commercially available, and i wish, wish, wish i had written down the name or gone to it while i was there (i'm sure google could help you). i can also recommend a fantastic cantonese bakery if you want to try an amazing coconut pastry.
