Olivia's room!

The crib was used, found it on craigslist and just put some of my favorite mustard yellow on the sides. The blanket was crocheted by Franc's step-grandmother, the black and white artwork was made by various people over the years including my mom, my sister caroline, me (duh), my students, and my friend Willow. The branch/paper mobile was made by me:)
Some of the ever popular IKEA expedit shelves with Target boxes inside! Oh and you might not be able to see it well but the burnt sienna thing on top of it is a hand made ceramic piggy bank from Costa Rica. I love how you can tell human hands made it; its not perfect like store bought ones. And I love that it is straight up red clay with just a clear coat on it. so cool.
Curtains from target with some fabric sewn to the bottom, rocking chair from goodwill, then repainted and cushions sewn for it. The lamp also from goodwill. Table: IKEA. Photos behind the chair are of Franc and I as babies. I had them in my room last year, but then got the idea to put them in her room from my friend Sarah.
Alphabet featured on this blog long ago, but its the set I made last year while teaching. The art piece below my mom brought after Olivia was born, b/c she knew about my b&w theme. I made it in 8th grade.
Closer shot of the mobile. I have another one I made a while back, that was going to be above the changing pad on the EXPEDIT shelves, but I haven't put it up yet, and we have found that changing her in the bathroom is way easier....
This is my favorite room in the house. partially because it is the only room I totally finished before she came, but also because it is so bright and cheerful. I have never put so much thought and time into a room before. I've never really had the time, plus we move always move, so it hardly seemed worth it!

The only thing more beautiful to go in that room is sweet little Olivia- but I guess you made her too, so it's appropriate that she is so gorgeous. :)

I am teary eyed- seriously. Thank you for posting this.

Please please send me your address.
