Thinking about selling prints...

I've been thinking about this for some time (selling prints of my artwork). I made the image above for an iPad case I am ordering (thanks to my husband who got me the groupon for Frydaze for our anniversary) and decided to print it to see how it would look. I love it! It brought up my idea for selling artwork (as well as the headbands) again, and I can't shake it. I mean I majored in drawing and painting people (and sold my art at a gallery in SLC for 5 years)! But I haven't made a piece of art since I had my daughter Olivia almost 3 years ago. That sort of depresses me, but its really my own fault because I usually just want to make stuff to decorate my house or clothe my family.

Anyway, I know my posts can ramble, and goodness knows I was no English major, so they have grammatical errors left and right (I also just get lazy about those things when I am writing for my blog)----okay that was really off topic. BUT making this print really got me excited about a more commercial side of art. And I am just writing you all on this blog to see if anyone would want to buy them? Or will they just get lost in Etsy land (of which I have been a super slacker about the past year)?

Okay, on a hair accessory note, I finally put some of my FAB sale leftovers up in the etsy shop!

Let me know what you think! (about the things I wrote above). I love comments. I really, really, do.

Yes! You should totally sell your prints! I'm sure the market is difficult on Etsy, but your art has a much different perspective than other stuff there and I don't think it would get lost. Don't you sell your headbands in local shops around? Maybe you could test the waters by seeing if those places also wanted your prints. I seriously think your art is beautiful! (and I really need to get Elsie some of those headbands!)

Okay, I'm on disability, so I probably won't be able to buy one, but I DEFINITELY think you should sell on Etsy!!! I love your art (always have) and I think it is very marketable. Do it, girl!

Why not? You wouldn't be losing much AND you never know what could come of it. I also tell myself this and then never do it tho:(

Btw - the hair accessories...hella cute!

You should definitely sell. I've been looking for art for my office and Scott and I have talked about having one of your pieces in our house! How cool would that be to have an original Katie Kortman? :)
Oh, and I love what you wrote in your post about your outfit! My outfits are not as cool, but sometimes I feel that same way. Like, "hey Scott, take a picture of me, I look cute." Ha ha. Those don't come often! Anyway, keep posting picture of your outfits. I seriously think of you (and your girls) when putting outfits together for myself and my girls. no joke! I love looking at all your girls' cute clothes and trying to find similar things at the (boring) stores here in Wichita!

Go for it! Don't think I can afford original art, but I would totally buy a piece if I could. Love your iPAD case!
