The Amelie bow is available on a baby band (or adult-stretchy) here.
and here is how I wore the clip today with my bun. loved. it.
I am sitting on a surplus of pieces leftover from the FAB.com sale, and so this weekend I decided to try them out on my soft baby headbands (that I usually sell more in stores than online). I LOVED them. My girls are usually the last to get headbands from my collection, but not anymore! Olivia actually kept her "tiara" on all during church! And miraculously I was able to distract Amélie from taking hers off as well. Check them out here.

Thinking about selling prints...
I've been thinking about this for some time (selling prints of my artwork). I made the image above for an iPad case I am ordering (thanks to my husband who got me the groupon for Frydaze for our anniversary) and decided to print it to see how it would look. I love it! It brought up my idea for selling artwork (as well as the headbands) again, and I can't shake it. I mean I majored in drawing and painting people (and sold my art at a gallery in SLC for 5 years)! But I haven't made a piece of art since I had my daughter Olivia almost 3 years ago. That sort of depresses me, but its really my own fault because I usually just want to make stuff to decorate my house or clothe my family.
Anyway, I know my posts can ramble, and goodness knows I was no English major, so they have grammatical errors left and right (I also just get lazy about those things when I am writing for my blog)----okay that was really off topic. BUT making this print really got me excited about a more commercial side of art. And I am just writing you all on this blog to see if anyone would want to buy them? Or will they just get lost in Etsy land (of which I have been a super slacker about the past year)?
Okay, on a hair accessory note, I finally put some of my FAB sale leftovers up in the etsy shop!
Let me know what you think! (about the things I wrote above). I love comments. I really, really, do.

Instawho?
A few months ago I spray-painted some plastic animals my mom gave olivia (handed-down from my youngest brother who is now 12). The bear is currently guarding this photo of my mom, Franc and I at Machu Picchu.
And little is happening around here since this sweet 8 1/2 month old girl is super sick, as is her mother and father (my nose hasn't stopped dripping in three days.... grrrrr)!!!! In better news... I am obviously now on Instagram! woohoo! Why? How? Because I still don't have an iPhone..... (Hint: I got a surprise upgrade on a certain piece of technology as an early birthday present from Francisco!)

This week/end
Here is what I have been up to (besides our spontaneous trip to Disney with the kids yesterday). I have started sprouting buckwheat groats and wheat berries! I love reading about healthy eating and from what I've read, sprouting is a great way to bring live foods that are rich in in vitamins and minerals into your diet! Today I through some of the sprouted buckwheat into my morning smoothie (which also had flax seed, almond butter, almond milk, banana and a touch of raw honey in it---the honey was very unneccessary turns out). Right now I have the rest of it, along with some "reactivated" raw nuts and seeds in my dehydrator (that my husband surprised me with for valentine's day!!!) in an effort to make some raw granola. Can't wait to try it!
And my fingers are working around the clock (okay during naps and nighttime) to get ready for my next fab sale!!! Its gonna be full of new stuff---or stuff never seen online at least--as well as some popular styles!

what? what?!!
I opened up my gmail a few days ago to find an email from the person overseeing the Atlanta casting for this show. He said he saw my headbands at the Beehive in Atlanta (p.s. go there by the 29th and you can still shop their annual warehouse sale!!!) and was wondering if I wanted to apply for this show!!???!!! It is a chance to have my business "made-over" and win a million dollars. Ummmmm sign me up!
Anyone else want to try? Go here. Its kind of a lengthy process so just be prepared! Franc and I worked on a haphazard storyboard last night (his idea) for the 2-5 min video I have to use as part of the app. I will definitely upload it to the blog once its finished! Wish I had one of my filmmaker friends around to help.

TOMORROW!!!!!!
Yes I have too many tabs open.... but here it is! The little blurb giving a small hint of what's to come on my FAB.COM sale tomorrow! woopee! There are more styles and colors than what is shown here and the price will be a good one (cheaper than you can buy them anywhere else). So sign up here and get ready for tomorrow (and Fri. and Sat.---its a 3 day sale).
And I totally thought it was dorky to have my profile photo of me wearing one of my headbands but I couldn't find a better photo of myself that didn't have someone else's head right next to mine. Or at least I didn't have time to search through the 20,485 photos on my computer to find one because I needed to work on my headbands!!!!
wish me luck on this sale! I basically gave up all fun December projects (except one which I will post about next week) and cleaning of my house to make headbands NON-STOP.

Fab and Jessica Swift
First of all I need to tell you all why I have been S. W. A. M. P. E. D lately. Its a little site called... FAB.COM!!! what?! what?! No its really a HUGE site and they want to sell my headbands on there! So.... I have been making SIX HUNDRED AND FORTY HEADBANDS with my own two hands, scissors, and glue since I found out (late November).
Sign up now and I will let you know when they are up and available to buy! (It is after Christmas, but not long....) and they will be sold at a discount. A good one!
If you haven't heard of Fab.com yet then let me tell you it is the coolest of cool 3-day-sale sites. It features super cool, modern, hip things for your body and home. I fall in love with new things on there everyday.
On another note. Jessica Swift! I bought one of her calendars last year and it has been one of my favorite kitchen decorations all year. Seriously, every month features a new cool design with bright, juicy color and pattern and I can't get enough. And what I love about her calendars, compared to most you find on etsy is that there is actually space to write things in! I love a cute calendar, but I need somewhere to write the stuff I have going on too. Anyway, just thought I'd share!
And while I was browsing her site (love her motto "Live Color to the Max") I saw lots of other things I began coveting...
Seriously? Those boots rock.

blue-eyed bling bling
These are new in my recently-re-opened shop! I am in.love. with the greenish gold faux leather on these. The little triangle one is my new fave.

whatya think?
I got some new glasses today! I have been coveting these for awhile now, but didn't think they would actually look good on me, so I went on a virtual search for an alternative. Found these ones and I am in love! (I mostly wear contacts, but I haven't bought new glasses in about 3 years so I was due for some new ones.)
I'm holding up some uncut headbands (I only find moments here and there to work on them, and tonight is one of those nights--why am I blogging???), because I thought if I just left them like that, uncut, they would make a nice wall hanging! You know, on trend with all the native american-y, feather-y, triangle-y, muted color-y stuff that is going down right now. And I have a new felt feather-y design I will {hopefully} be putting in the shop in the next month (stores are my priority right now)!

new in the shop...
I've been selling a few of these in one of my shops in Atlanta, but had yet to make some for my etsy shop (which has been pretty neglected for the past 3 1/2 months.... oops).
The design is inspired by an accessory I saw in Paris and in a French magazine awhile back. I am absolutely in love with how these look on as well as off. Too bad my husband isn't around at the moment to take a photo of me wearing one so you can see (he's studying for exams)...
anyway, head over to the shop and pick one up! It would look adorable for Easter, Passover, or just to add to your spring wardrobe.

Christmas card, ICE, and the Etsy shop
So.... First of all, thank you all for your input! I took your advice in roundabout ways and came up with this solution! I ended up finding a card on Shutterfly that was blank and allowed me to just put a photo on it. So I went into Photoshop (I just have Elements), and made my own card! whoopee! And on the inside of the card is this adorable photo:
And Lastly....
Thank you everyone who came out to see me at ICE! It was a blast! Sold lots and had a ton of fun talking with all my neighbors from the Beehive:) And I have started re-stocking my shop, so take a look! There will be more coming soon...

TOMORROW...
230 pieces = 3,450 min (+/-), 57.5 hours
what you see above (and there are many you can't really see) is what I am bringing to ICE tomorrow. and as you can tell by the stats, it represents A LOT of hard work and long hours.
ICE is tomorrow. TOMORROW! It was a huge undertaking for me this year, since I have way more stores then I've had in years previous, making it hard to make large quantities for both the stores and for my own booth. Everytime I would make a large quantity of stuff, a store would tell me they needed more! AHHH I kept having to start over! Anyway, my goal was to bring 200 pieces, because I run out every year, and I am happy that I actually went OVER. Even if I have a bad year for some reason, well that means I can finally stock up the etsy store (I have so many styles that have never even made it in there!) and send some to the Beehive. I am so glad I am finally getting a break though. now I can make things for myself again!

COME SEE ME!!!
My Annual show. The ONLY one I do because I have NO idea how I could possibly make 200 pieces multiple times a year OUTSIDE of what I already have to produce!!! I seriously don't know how people do it! Anyway, this is THE coolest crafty show in Atlanta, so I make sure I am there every year! Please come and see me, I'll be in the second row! You will not be disappointed in this festival its the coolest of the cool in Atlanta. (I am not just saying that because I am there!!!)
PS: I will ONLY be there on Saturday!! On Sunday my friend Christy will be taking over the booth with her own sweet stuff! So come see me Saturday!!
