Pictured above: loyal customers!!! oh but of course these are THE only photos I took of the whole day. not one of my booth or anything. I was a little preoccupied with the baby this time I guess!!!

it was great to see so many blueeyedfreckle fans at I.C.E last saturday! i had no idea how many people read this blog, so it was fun to find out there is a reason for this thing! it kinda gave me the desire to put more effort into this one. i mean, i really should post more often if there are people interested in reading what i have to say!!! so... i will:) more tutorials, more inspiration. more of my house and blueeyedfreckle. pinky promise:)

as for I.C.E, well we did great again this year and LUCKILY Olivia was an angel. of course without the help of my mother-in-law who was so kind as too walk her around in the baby bjorn all day, it might not have been so easy! Unfortunately I didn't get much time to walk around to the other vendors this year, b/c Franc was helping with the baby most of the day while I manned the booth. From what I saw though, there was some very very very cool stuff around. Its like the best of Etsy, in real 3-D life!

unfortunately some one (and I actually know who did it) decided to steal one of my headbands. that's right they thought, "oh I really love this, and I just don't have $15 to spare for this HAND-DYED, HAND CUT wool felt, ribbon, and leather headband. I think I will just steal it. directly from the person who made it. yep. good idea."

It was a slap in the face. but I moved on eventually. And a nice thing was meeting some of my collectors?? should I call them? One girl, Katie, (nice name right:), she says she has a whole drawer devoted to blueeyedfreckle headbands. And I believe it. She has ordered so many!

I.C.E was all in all a wonderful experience. I mean, yes somebody stole from me. But other than that, it was just a reassuring experience for me. people DO like my stuff and think its interesting and beautiful. It is easy as an artist and designer to wonder if anyone else will like what you like. Everyone is so different. And sometimes things that you think are beautiful, others think are just weird. so experiences like this help me have the confidence to keep making things for other people. Thank you:)

its a little different this time

these are some necklaces i kept daydreaming about and then finally made a couple days ago. i want to eat them up, i love them so much. they are made from the wool felt i dyed a couple weeks ago. they are delicious:)
this year i am a little more organized. the display is a little cleaner, and i have more stock.... i ran out last year! (i didn't know people would like my stuff so much, we were just hoping to pay off the booth!)
this year my bags are packed, the prices are marked and i am ready to go DAYS BEFORE the show, rather than the night before.... why you ask???? see below.
because i have been busy chillin' with olivia. you know, just chattin on the couch. talkin about girl stuff. cause that's what best friends do.

oh, and b/c i have to use every spare moment to get ready since she occupies most of my time. i can't expect to get it all done the night before!! DON'T FORGET TO COME VISIT ME AT I.C.E ON SATURDAY! info below and its $5 to get in. and i don't have a credit card machine unfortunately.

AND THE WINNER IS.....

Thanks to everyone who entered and spread the word for me! I went to random.org, and used their random number generator. the number it chose was.... #2! Brenda! just email me your address and we can go from there...

new stuff for the ICE show and etsy shop!

Now, I don't like to toot my own horn usually (unless I am just around family), but I. AM. IN. LOVE. with these new headbands. I really think these are the cutest headbands I have ever made. And I love that I haven't seen anything like them recently. Okay I have seen ribbon headbands, and I have seen felt headbands, but I haven't seen combos like this. And I like to make things that when you do a search on etsy there aren't 4 MILLION of the same things. Not that I don't ever make headbands that look pretty normal (ie. flowers...), but I don't get as much satisfaction out of designing those. I like to invent and reinvent, like any artist. And if you HAVE seen headbands like this floating around in cyberspace, please don't tell me:)

oh and these will be in the etsy shop soon, but I have to finish getting ready for this show! NOVEMBER 21st, 11-6, atlanta, more on this soon:)

I'm dying and dyeing.

I am DYING over these new baby headbands and make-up bags... I also made adult versions of the headbands (on a regular headband)... I seriously freak out in joy when I put these on. Do you know what I mean? when you create something new that you just absolutely love? this doesn't happen all the time, but when it does its such a rush.

and I DYED all this wool felt over the weekend. for tips look back at this post. you KNOW how obsessed I am with dyeing things. and doing all these colors? it was a big ol' mess a fun.

lately.

lately this is what my desk looks like. not one of those pretty photos you see on people's blogs, where its all cluttered, but somehow looks so cool... no this is what a real mess looks like. and luckily for my husband and all visitors, I have finally moved it from the living room floor to my desk. (if you have followed this blog for awhile and thought I had this big studio room, well that was my OLD apartment, and in the new one it is TINY.) oh and the mess has increased in size.
these are what I have been making in that mess of a studio. I will be selling them at the INDIE CRAFT EXPERIENCE (like last year) and also at the stores on my sidebar. oh and whatever is leftover will go on etsy. or maybe I will make duplicates of the popular ones.
I made this vintage crochet doilie into a kerchief/collar and love the way it looked draped on my lamp. I have been re-obsessing over crochet collars again. I have this love for them that re-manifests itself periodically. well, I love collars in general.
